Background: India and Bangladesh on Monday signed agreements covering money and commodities india is to provide to help in the reconstruction of the Bangladesh economy.
The letters of agreement were exchanged between Mr. T.N. Kaul, of the Indian foreign Ministry, and Mr.H.R. Choundhury, head of the Bangladesh Mission in Calcutta.
The list of goods to be made available includes petrol, fertilizers, cotton, sugar salt, baby food, cement, steel,chemicals, electrical equipment and vehicles. In addition, an immediate loan of 5 million sterling (12 million dollars) is to be made to help Bangladesh meet immediate foreign currency needs.
