Background: Film stars Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, back together again after their divorce 14 months ago, left fro Israel on Wednesday (27 August).
They flew to Zurich airport by helicopter from Miss Taylor's chalet at Gstaad before flying to Israel.
The couple refused to talk to reporters at the airport.
Burton, 49, told one interviewer: "I'm sorry, I'm deaf in one ear".
It was their first appearance in public since their reconciliation a week ago.
As they walked towards the car that was to take them to their waiting plane, Miss Taylor moved to kiss Burton on the cheek after being prompted by photographers. But Burton moved away at the last moment.
Their lawyer -- Maurice Solowicz -- said they would spend four or five days in Israel, where Burton is to make a film in October.
Commenting on earlier reports that they might be re-married in Israel, Mister Solowicz said it would not be legally possible because Burton is not Jewish, and Israel does not have civil marriages.
