Background: Yemen has accused Great Britain of aggression before the United Nations' Security Council. Debate continued on Monday (6 April). The Council heard from Salah el Dine Tarazi of Syria, from Ahmed Taibi Benhima of Morocco and from Adlai Stevenson of the United States, among others.
Yemen and her Arab allies have charged that the British attempted to start a shooting war in southern Arabia when they attacked a fort at the Yemeni town of Hareeb. The British deny the charges, saying that they are attempting to protect the Federation of South Arabia from Yemeni aggression.
