After a 15 month refit, HN Aircraft Carrier "Victorious" has been posted east of Suez, and took up her duties in the Indian Ocean three days ago.
The aircraft carrier Victorious steaming along through the Indian Ocean during the early morning light on Tuesday 10th. Sequence of aerial pics shows various parts of carrier, including huge radar dome which looks like searchlight. Sequence also shows two Sea Vixens being launched.
Sequence from Victorious bridge shows Sea Vixens landing on the flight deck with cutaways showing Navy personnel working or watching. One cutaway, shows (tele) the "Director" the device on which aircraft are guided onto the landing dock.
Sea Vixens are shown taking off for their exercises.
R.N. Helicopters landing with British M.P.'s getting out (They were not cooperative and spent time below decks. Suggest you cut them out)
More take offs by Sea Vixens, followed by Succaneers (last shot or so, believed camera off 24 fps)
Sea Vixens and Buccaneers on the flight desk, being serviced by engineers. The carrier's "island" is in the background.
Engineers working on the aircraft.

Deck hands preparing for landings; show man wearing asbestos suits while another wears a red cross.
Two Buccaneers are shown landing, and stopping by camera. Men rush out to disconnect driven arrester wires. High wind was blowing (45 m.p.h.)
A propeller driven Gannet lands and winds up its wings.
The crest of HMS Victorious on the side of the ship.

Background: After a 15 month refit, HN Aircraft Carrier "Victorious" has been posted east of Suez, and took up her duties in the Indian Ocean three days ago.The 35,000 ton carrier is now equipped with the now low, fast strike Buccaneer aircraft, together with Sea Vixens and Gannets.During the carrier's refit, a fully angled deck was incorporated, which allows aircraft to be launched and landed simultaneously. The ship is also equipped with a special long range radar system, which gives simultaneous bearings, ranges and heights of aircraft, further, higher, and more accurately than any other system in the world.
