    Background: Dona Fabiola de Mora y Aragon - fiancee of King Baudouin of the Belgians - made a round of farewell calls in Madrid, a few days before her departure, Dec 5, for the Dec 15 wedding in Brussels.

    Dona Fabiola's first visit was to the Institute of Artificial Respiration, which is named after her. She is accompanied on her inspection tour by doctors of the staff land leading personalities.

    Next - the City Hall, where the Municipal Guard is drawn up. The Mayor of the City reads an address on behalf of the Corporation, proclaiming Dona Fabiola "Pre-eminent Daughter of Madrid". She receives a painting by Dario de Regoyos, depicting the Royal Palace at Brussels, and is presented with a handbag of gold brocade.

    On to Madrid's Cathedral, where Dona Fabiola takes leave from Our Lady of La Almudena. Archbishop Eijo y Garay accepts a bouquet of flowers to be placed at the foot of the statue. Then Dona Fabiola kneels in prayer.
