    Background: Deposed President Juan Bosch of the Dominican Republic said Saturday (1 May) that only the arrival of U.S. troops saved his foe, General Wessin y Wessin, from defeat.

    Bosch also gave up hope on the program of ever regaining power in his native land and said he would never return.
