Background: An underground car park in the centre of Paris has gone into the bicycle - and Moped-hire business.
At the time this film was taken, clients had a choice of standard or racing bicycles or folding small-wheeled machines, on hire by the hour, day, weekend or on a monthly subscription basis, and the firm was about to extend the choice to mopeds. Among the growing clientele are businessmen, shoppers and sight-seers.
Having hired a cycle from the "Foch" underground car park, one emerges onto the Champs Elysees, with the Arc de Triomphe straight ahead.
Hiring fees range from 3 Francs (about 5 shillings) an hour for a bicycle to 150 Francs (just over 12 pound Sterling) for a monthly season ticket for a moped. The firm recommends its form of transport to all who want to beat the traffic jams, take healthy exercise, and get out and about to the Bois de Boulogne and the countryside around Paris.
