Background: Sodre Hospital, just built in Stockholm, is one of the biggest and most modern in the world...so big, so modern, that the nurses have been provided with scooters to get from one ward to another. Corridors in the hospital are so long that it was considered the nurses would be tired out walking them. All the nurses get instruction in scooter riding and their standards are high. No accidents have yet been reported, nor traffic jams in the hospital corridors.

Sodre Hospital has been planned to accommodate nearly 1,800 patients. Nine-hundred workpeople are required to keep it fully staffed.
