Background: A Soviet freighter, referred to as a "vessel of peace", is calling at various European ports, collecting relief supplies for victims of the Lebanese civil war.
SYNOPSIS: "KUNDA", a Soviet ship, docked at the harbour of Piraeus on Saturday (November 20th) to collect relief materials for war-stricken people of Lebanon. Thousands of parcels with medicine, food and clothes were offered by various Greek religious and civil organisations.
"The Greek people are with the Palestinian refugees" - proclaimed the banner aboard the vessel.
The freighter has been chartered by the World Peace Council which patronises the relief operation. It will call at many ports in various European countries, wherever the collection of relief materials for impoverished Lebanese people has been organised. The "peace ship" is due in Lebanon later in the month.
