Background: This morning the Holy Father first received the new Italian Ambassador to the Holy See Mr. Bartolomeo Migone who presented his credentials. The new ambassador was received by Vatican Authorities and accompanied to the Throne Room where Pope Pius awaited his visit. After the presentation of the letters Mr. Migone introduced the members of the embassy to the Pope.

Later, the Pope also received His Royal Highness Mutesa II, Kabaka of Buganda who accompanied by his brother and other members of the Bugandian court officially paid visit to Pius XII. The Visitors remained in private with the Holy Father.
