Background: The Sudanese Head of State, President Jaafar El-Nimeiry, is in Yugoslavia on a two-day official visit.
On his arrival on Monday (15 June) he was greeted at the airport by President Tito, his Prime Minister, Mr. Ribicic, and members of the diplomatic corps.
A party of Sudanese students, now studying in Yugoslavia were at the airport with Yugoslav fellow students to cheer their President.
President Nimeiry is accompanied by his Foreign Minister Mr. Faruk Abu Isa, his Planning Minister, Mr. Abdel Kerim Mirgani, and other close associates, as well as high officials and representatives of social and political organisations, among them Mr. El Safi Ahmed Al Seik, Secretary General of the Sudanese Trade Unions.
During his two-day stay in Belgrade he was to hold official talks in the Federal Executive Council. Today (Wednesday) President Nimeiry is setting out on a sight-seeing tour of Yugoslavia. during which he will be visiting the picturesque Bosnian capital, Sarayevo, and the historic Adriatic seaside town of Pula.
