Background: The 25th Centenary of the founding of the Persian Empire was celebrated in a unique way in London on Wednesday night (September 15).
International furriers, Renee and Bruno Stern, designed and manufactured a collection of furs inspired by early Persian miniatures and costumes.
The ensembles, together with Furs Renee's Winter Collection, were presented to the Iranian Ambassador in London, His Excellency Mr. Amir Khosrow Afshar and Madame Afshar.
SYNOPSIS: Furs fashioned and created especially to mark the 25th Centenary of the founding of the Persian Empire went on show in London today. The show of latest fur fashions was held at the residence of the Iranian Ambassador to London, Mr. Amir Khosrow Afshar and Madame Afshar. One of the first garment in the display was this dark ranch mink tabard trimmed with Canadian sable. The fur was worn over a short, white shelitah -- an Iranian skirt -- with embroidered boots and cap. The collection of furs on show was designed and manufactured by international furriers, Renee and Bruno Stern.
A white mink tabard, trimmed with Canadian sable and worn over a red shelitah. Again, the embroidered boots and cap.
A gold leather waisted three quarter coat with purple Persian lamb yoke and broad scalloped band around the hem. The short sleeves have a scalloped trimming of burnt orange Persian lamb. The fur is worn with a white ermine top and matching purple calf floor length skirt.
In brilliant fuschia calf, a floor length coat with two scalloped bands of SAGA mink round the skirt and trimming the short sleeves. The ensemble is worn with a long white mink scarf.
