    CABINET MINISTERS WHO WERE SWORN IN YESTERDAY INCLUDED THE MINISTER OF DEFENCE, ALHAJI MUHAMMADU RIBADU; THE MINISTER OF WORKS AND SURVEY, ALHAJI MUHAMMADU INUWA WADA; THE MINISTER OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION, ALHAJI WAZIRI IBRAHIM; AND THE MINISTER OF HEALTH AND INFORMATION, DR. M. A. MAJEKODUMNI.

    SIR ABUBAKAR'S CABINET CONTAINS IN ALL 17 MEMBERS, AND THEIR APPOINTMENT BRINGS AN END TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS WHICH FOLLOWED THE STORMY NIGERIAN ELECTIONS. HOWEVER, THE PRIME MINISTER IS EXPECTED TO RESHUFFLE CABINET POSTS AT THE COMPLETION OF ELECTIONS IN THE EAST AND MID-WEST, AND IN LAGOS.

    (PRESIDENT AZIKIWE CALLED ON SIR ABUBAKAR TO FORM A GOVERNMENT AFTER BEING HIGHLY CRITICAL OF THE GENERAL ELECTIONS, WHICH ONE OF THE MAIN POLITICAL GROUPS, THE UNITED PROGRESSIVE GRAND ALLIANCE, HAD CALLED ON ITS MEMBERS TO BOYCOTT. ALL BUT FOUR MEMBERS OF THE NEW CABINET ARE MEMBERS OF SIR ABUBAKAR'S NIGERIAN NATIONAL ALLIANCE.)
