Background: Jordan and West Germany concluded a new agricultural deal on Monday (9 July). Under the agreement, signed by Jordanian Agricultural Minister Omar Al-Nabulsi and West German Ambassador Louis Schligel, West Germany will supply 500 spraying machines, 50 tractors and 550 tons of chemical fertilisers. The government in Amman will sell the equipment and fertiliser to Jordanian farmers, then re-invest the money from the sales in farming projects.
