The Korean prime minister, welcoming him at airport, pledged his country "utmost cooperation and support in south vietnam's efforts to carry out war and reconstruct its economy". and added "it is our sincere hope that both countries will achieve a democratic reunifications of their country. Following his arrival, Ky paid courtesy call on the prime minister for 15 minutes. During this call prime minister conferred medals to Vietnamese Psychological warfare minister Mr. Dinh Trihn Chinh and Mr. Bui Diem, the assistant to the vietnamese premier."
Ky expressed deep gratitude to Korean people for sending troops to his country and said "presence Korean soldiers to vietnam underline only importance communist in roads but also solidarity free nations. This is enough to secure victory for our side".
