    Background: The former Shah of Iran and his wife were flown to Panama on Sunday (16 December) by the United States Airforce. He had been staying at a hospital on an Air Force base near San antonio, Texas, since December, 2, following treatment for cancer in New York. In Panama, the former Shah was given the estate of a former ambassador to Washington on the Pacific Island of Contadora.

    SYNOPSIS: The former Shah new home is guarded by his security men, and the Panamanian Navy protects the island. On arrival,k the former Shah and later a government spokesman met journalists.
