Background: VISNEWS cameras at the Broadmoor Ice Palace Colorado Springs, Feb 26 filmed vivacious 19-years-old darling of the figure skating world Carol Heiss win her fourth straight women's title in the World Championships.
Before a packed house enjoying thrill upon thrill Carol gave a superb free-skating exhibition to out distance a star studded field representing eight countries. In flaming red costume and to booming overtones of Tchaikovsky, Miss Heiss brought roar after roar of approval from the crowd with her perfected execution of dizzying spins, jumps, turns and pirouettes.
Second was 19-year-old Miss Hanna Walter, a language student from Vienna, Austria.
Miss Sjoukje Dijkstra of the Netherlands was third.
Miss Heiss once again added substance to the belief that she is potentially one of the greatest women skaters of the time. Flushed and excited, flanked by the second and third place finishers on the victors rostrum, she proved that at least she is one of the most attractive.
