    PRIME MINISTER VERWOERD, ACCOMPANIED BY DEFENCE MINISTER FOUCHE AND JUSTICE MINISTER VORSTER, INSPECTED THE PLANE AND WAS AMONG THE LARGE CROWD WATCHING THE PLANE SHOW OFF ITS TWICE-THE-SPEED-OF-SOUND PACES.

    THE MIRAGE III HAS BEEN SOLD TO ISRAEL, SWITZERLAND AND AUSTRALIA IN THE FACE OF STIFF COMPETITION FROM BRITAIN.LAST MONTH THE DEFENCE MINISTER ANNOUNCED THAT HE HAD RECENTLY PLACE AN ORDER FOR DEFENCE EQUIPMENT WITH BRITAIN INSPITE OF THREATS BY THE BRITISH LABOUR PARTY LEADER, MR.HAROLD WILSON, THAT IF HE WINS THE NEXT ELECTION HE WOULD STOP ARMS SUPPLIES TO SOUTH AFRICA.
