Background: On Sunday, the 14th February, at 5.48h. AM, a terrible railway accident took place on the railway line between Zenica and Nemila. In this accident 33 persons were dead and 114 were wounded. The accident is caused by error of Dizel-lokomotive's electrical installations. On that occasion, the locomotive with three or four tons of naphtha caught fire. The accident took place in the tunnel, named Vranduk, which is long about 1600 metres. It happened at about 300 metres before going out of tunnel, in the direction of Zenica. It is supposed that in the local train which communicates between Zenica - Zepce, there were about 200 passengers, mostly workmen of the Ironworks Zenica and also of the Lignite's Mine situated in this town.
Immediately after fire the rescue units arrived at the place of accident - firemen, army, sanitary unit.
In a Zenica's Hospital about 50 passengers are retained for medical treatment, but their lives are out of danger.
On Monday, more than 40000 citizens of Zenica, painful and sorrowful, said the last farewell to 33 passengers dead in that railway accident.
