Background: December 24, N.Y. Imagine winning all the toys you ever dreamed of. That's what happened to three lucky N.Y. area youngsters who won the COCOA MARSH "Name the Christmas Drink" contest. Shown here in sequence are:
9 year old Steven Suffin, son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Suffin, 270 Stanley Avenue, Bklyn., N.Y. Steven's reward was 5 minutes in Macy's toy department, Saturday, Dec. 20th. Here are some of the dream toys Steven won: 2 big Herald Junior bicycles, 4 Kenners Girder and Panel Bldg. sets, a king-size Gilbert Erector Set, a king-size Gilbert Microscope and Lab Set, a Roy Rogers Ranch, a Castle, and a Supersonic Bomber.
The second prize winner was 8 year old Meredith Jayne Boylan, daughter of Mrs. J. Edward Boylan, 11 Summit Street, Glenridee, N.J. Meredith's reward was 3 minutes in Macy's toy Department, Saturday, December 20. Here are some of the dream toys Meredith won: a two-wheel Huffy bicycle, a sulky horse and carriage by Rempel. a Jocko Monkey and a French poodle by Steiff, a Nativity Set by Ideal, and a Doroty Imported Doll.
The third prize winner was 9 year old Kenny Fishman, son of Mrs. Stern, 2918 Allon Street, Oceanside, N.Y. Kenny's reward was 2 minutes in Macy's toy department, Saturday, Dec. 20. Here are some of the dream toys Kenny won: a giant Gilbert Erector Set, a Gilbert Chemistry and Microscope Set, a large billiard table, and a midget Volkswagen.
The first prize winner, Steven, is in the fourth grade at P.S. #260 and attends Kenelson's Hebrew School. He has a 6 1/2 year old brother called Jordan. Steven's hobbies are model planes, biking, and playing ball with his father, who is supervisor of the Internal Revenue Department. His mother added one other hobby-eating. This all adds up to a real champ!
Meredith, the second prize winner, is in the third grade at the Sacred Heart School in Bloomfield. She is also a member of Brownie Troop #52. in Bloomfield. Next week, Meridth's three brothers, Chris, Steve, and John ages 6, 10, and 16 respectively and her sister Susan 18 will help her celebrate her eight birthday.
Meredith's hobbies are ice skating, roller skating, and shopping. Her favourite school subject is spelling, which all spells out a very charming little girl.
The third prize winner, Kenny, is in the fourth grade at Oceanside School #1 He has a 16 year old brother Paul who attends Senior H.S. , and a 13 year old sister Joan who attends Junior H.S. Kenny's favourite subject in school is fevered and he has figured out the weight of the great pyramids, which is considered quite a feat- even more difficult than winning contests. His hobbies are Little League Football-he is a star half-back, and Little League Baseball in which he is both a pitcher and second baseman. Whether in sports or in winning prizes, Kenny is a true champ!
