This film, covering the event, shows Mr. khalaf in one of his rare appearances before the press.
SYNOPSIS: At an address to guerrillas in the Al Hussein camp in Amman, Jordan, on Tuesday (March 23) Palestine Commando leader Salah Khalaf said unity with the Jordanian Government had to be achieved before the main battle with Israel could continue.
Armed guerrillas guarded the meeting from several vantage points while Mr. Khalaf, who is second in command of the Al Fatah organisation under Yassar Arafat, addressed the crowd. During his talk Mr. Khalaf outlined the circumstances of the Middle East situation and the events leading up to date.
The press were there--a rare event, as Mr. Khalaf usually avoids publicity. He was one of the members of the Central Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation who were captured in the war with the Jordan Government last September, and later signed the agreement with the Government that said all guerrilla organisations would be united under the P.L.O.
