COL. ACHEAMPONG: "This Revolutionary Charter is not only a guide to these who lead our nation in Government, in business, in thought and in culture, but also constitutes the basic tenets that must inspire every man, woman and child in Ghana. For, faithfully and diligently adhered to, the principles of the Charter will usher in for all of us, and for generations of Ghanaians unborn, a truly progressive, self-reliant, prosperous and confident nation of one people with one great destiny."

In an address during Tuesday's ceremonies, Col.Acheampong outlined the aims of the Charter:
The Colonel, who is head of the National Redemption Council -- the Government -- went on to explain that several such regional committees had been established in regions throughout Ghana.
