Background: France's Water-ski Championships were held at Juan-les-Pins on the Cote d'Azur from July 10-12, when the winners were Parisienne Beatrice Martelli for the women and Jean-Marie Muller of Lyon in the men's class.

Beatrice Martelli who is woman champion of France, gave a wonderful display of skill during her exhibition, executing some excellent turns and a very fine ski jump.

Winner Jean-Marie Muller whose water-ski jumping enthused the crowd is Champion of France and was Runner-up in the World championship in 1998.
