Background: Argentina got nearer to qualifying for next year's World Cup Football Finals to be held in Munich, by beating Bolivia 4-nil in the Boca Stadium, Buenos Aires, on Monday (10 September, 1973).

Playing before f fifty thousand home supporters, Argentina went immediately into the attack. But in the sixth minute, the midfield player, mIguel Angel Brindisx, had an opportunity to score from the penalty spot and missed.

Brindisi made up for his mistake in the thirtieth and forty-second minutes by scoring twice. In the second half, the centre ???ward, Ruben Ayala made it 4-nil with goals in the sixty-fifth and seventy fourth minutes.

Though it was certainly a convincing win, it did not do justice to Bolivia, who managed to keep up a well-organised defence for most of the match. Argentina rarely produced the world class soccer they will need at Munich.

Next Saturday, Argentina will play the crucial match in the Three-nation Group, when they meet Paraguay in Asuncion.
