Background: VISNEWS at Stockholm, Sweden, June 1, with trade experts from seven European Countries discussing the creation of a "Little Free Trade Area".
The Seven Nations, British, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland and Portugal, meeting for the third time, hope and expect on this occasion to devise methods by which trade barriers between them might be removed.
Their main problem is to decide whether the proposed Tariff reductions should be gradual, or put into effect immediately.
Although the meeting of the Seven followed the failure of the European Free Trade Area negotiations, it has been stated that the "Little Free Trade Area" they hope to set up is not opposed to the Common Market of the Benelux Countries with France, Italy and West Germany but rather the consequence of it.
