Background: For about a month, the small town of Rosolini: in the province of Siracusa, has been "up in the air" because of a supposed "miracle" which is supposed to take place from time to time.
In one of the town's convents there is an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Some people have it that the right hand of this image has moved at different times in the gesture of benediction. As soon as the word spread around thousands of faithful have been crowding to the small chapel where the image is kept. Each person who comes wishes to enter the chapel and remain there until the miracle takes place. Those who remain outside fervidly pray to receive graces of all sorts according to their needs.
Many people who have been in the chapel are convinced that they have seen the image's hand move and many, others are also quite convinced of having received the grace they asked for. It isn't at all difficult to fire up human imagination and it is easier still to do so with a "southern race". Needless to say the Church is quite slow in taking position in cases like these and for the moment no "official communique" has been emitted by any member of the Church itself.
Whether the miracle exists or not no one can tell. What is happening on the other hand is worth the trouble it takes so as to bring it before the World's eyes.
SCENES/; Can NøI- Inside view of the; Convent of the Sacred Heart., various views of crowd waiting for the miracle and close ups of the image, general views of the town of Rosolini, crowd before the Sanctuary waiting to be told what is going on inside.
CAN Nø2-: Other outside shot: people in the small street before the Sanctuary, stands put up for the occasion by people who sell holy images (taking advantage of situation), Some of the town's people reading a newspaper which has published a photo (in all probability false) in which the right had (the one which points towards the figure's hair) has moved from its usual position and is supposedly moving in the gesture of blessing.
