    Background: Operation "Domino",
pictured here, is part of the larger French Army "Operation Binoculars", which
continue in the fierce heat of an Algerian August sun, against rebel strongholds
    in the Grand Kabylia Mountains.

General Challe, France's Commander-in-Chief in Algeria is trying to clear all
rebels from the mountains and forests before bad weather sets in to hamper his
    fortes.

The offer of General De Gaulle for a 'cease first', made nine months ago to the
rebel leaders, is still- unanswered, yet the rebels in the field are continually
invited to surrender before French troops move in for the kill.

Some idea of the difficulties confronting the French Army may be gained from
these pictures of an operation that took three days to achieve this result - a
sheltering cave is blown up after rebels hiding there had been forced out by
    teargas and bazooka fire.

One of the 215 heavy helicopters in Algeria transports French fighting men to
cut off a group of rebels, and afterwards flies wounded Algerians to hospital at
    TIZI-OUZOU.

In this operation 60 rebels were captured end 23 weapons seized as well as much
    other equipment.

The task of the French Army after four years and nine months of warfare against
rebel troops seems as hard as ever.

M.Debre, Prime Minister of France is now in Algeria for a short visit during
which he will, among other things, look at the progress of "Operation
    Binoculars".
