Background: The trend towards extremes in the Spring and Summer fashion collections continued in Paris yesterday (Wednesday), when the House of Courreges unveiled some of its latest creations. The outcome was another resounding success for short shorts -- "hotpants", as the fashion writers call them -- and for maxi-length summer coats.
Courreges' colours are bright and breezy. There are brilliant yellows and oranges. One creation -- of an exceptional mini-length -- was nothing less than a coat of many colours.
The shorts cropped up in bikini bottoms and in one-piece beach outfits. Some were designed for wearing under wrap-around maxi-skirts.
One of the most exiting outfits came with a maxi-length coat in vinyl. The matching evening dress had a vinyl bodice and a maxi-length skirt slit to the thighs at the side.
