Background: In Holland, Groningen City's Gas Council and Transport Authority have been demonstrating natural-gas-fueled buses, which if put into service may cut costs and cause none of the air-pollution created by petrol-fueled vehicles.

The test-bus was run on bottled gas, but the intention is to run buses on liquified gas, manufactured during low consumption periods.

The saving in costs in enormous, since Groningen has vast supplies of gas at 5.5 cents a little. Petrol, by contrast is 65 cents a litre.
