Background: Travel representatives from countries throughout Africa met in London today (Friday) at the meeting of the newly formed unofficial African Liaison Group on Tourism.
The group is convinced that unofficial co-operation and the sharing of information between members will help foster tourism to African countries
Officials from African National airlines and national tourist authorities were present to give support to the group's formation
The travel group is directing its activities towards the United Kingdom market from which comes many tourists to Africa
Mr. M T S Senghor, of Air Afrique, is the Chairman of the group and presided at the meeting where the constitution of the organisation was discussed
