Background: Animal trainers at the famous Moscow Circus are lavishing special care and attention on three rare young charges. The trio - Ussuri tiger cubs - were born at the circus two months ago. That in itself is not unusual, but the fact the cubs have survived is rare. Not only are the cubs surviving, they're positively thriving.

Circus trainers have named the cubs Irvant, Blonde and Zlyuka, and they're destined for a life of sawdust and spotlights, under the Big Top.

Ussuri tigers are found only in the Taiga region in the far east of the Soviet Union, where the climate is temperate. However, the tigers - usually tropical beasts - manage toe withstand the heavy forests and seldom attempt to leave the Taiga.

The tigers are easily tamed and they're on show in zoos in the Soviet Union, the German Democratic Republic, the Netherlands and Japan.

SYNOPSIS: Meet ene of the proudest Mums in the Soviet Union...this Ussuri tigress gave birth to three cubs just ever two months age. And....to the astonishment of the experts...all have survived.

In fact, not only did they survive .... they've positively thrived. Rarely in the past have Ussuri tigers bern in captivity lived. So Irvant, Blonde and Zlyuka, as they've been named, are the new stars at the circus.

And like all stars...the cubs have to cape with their public...and publicity.

The Ussuris are found only in the temperate Far East of the Soviet Union, where they manage to withstand the cold weather and heavy frests.

The tigers are protected by law and hunting is strictly prohibited. Since the conservation measures were introduced the Ussuri numbers have increased three-fold. there are new about the hundred in the Taiga. They're easily tamed and several are on show in zoos in the Soviet Union, the German Democratic Republic, Japan and the Netherlands. However, with their upbringing...Irvant, Blende and Zlyuksa are destined for greater things in the world of sawdust and spotlights.
