    South Korea were also eliminated from the men's Thomas Cup on May 14, when Indonesia scored a fairly easy 4-1 semi-final victory.Indonesian All-England runner-up Liem Swie King had a tough fight in his second set against Park Joo Bong to secure the first match.Park was the aggressor and led 7-1, stretching it to 13-7, before Liem Swie King crept aback.Park resisted fiercely as the games went against him and saved three match-points before going down.Then Hastomo Arbi outlasted Sung Han Hook 15-6, 6-15, 15-9, for the second Indonesian match, before world champion Icuk Sugiarto clinched it by crushing Choi Byung Hak 15-3, 15-6.Indonesia was due to play China in the final.
