One of the outstanding games of the day was a match between England's current champion, Jill Hammersley and China's Yu Chia in the women's singles. Miss Yu who is ranked number 18 in the world won 17-21, 21-11, 21-18.
England's Jimmy Walker put up tough fight with his flashing backhand. He caused many problems for Li Chingkuang, the top Chinese player on this tour. But Li won 19-21, 22-20, 22-20 with his fantastic reactions when blocking attacking shots.
After their London match, the Chinese team left for the Southern English resort, Brighton, for the Norwich Union International Championships starting on Thursday.
After their English tour, they are expected to visit France before returning to Peking.
