Background: Bien Hoa June 3.- the US paratroopers 1st operation began since June 1st in the area 15km north of Bien Hoa air base, with the target to clear the region around the Bien Hoa Air base and with the purpose to let the US paratroopers study and practice their anti guerrilla tactics in this jungle field.The 173rd paratroopers done a search mission in the Tan Dinh area with the support of a company of mountain artillery and 2 companies of transport and fighting helicopters.The operation was ended June 3, and it was the day authorized to newsmen to cover the operation.
