G.V. of ship at dockside in Southampton.

    Casting off.

    Tugs pull ship out.

    Siren blowing.

    Various shots during stabiliser trials.

(As the weather was calm it was necessary to force the ship to roll using the stabilisers and then use them again to correct the rolling. The tests were highly successful.)

Various shots around the ship during the trials which may show the degree of roll. This is very difficult to show in a picture.

Shots on bridge showing Sir William Wallace, designer of the Denny-Brown stabiliser operating the control. With him is Captain George Morris of the Q.M.
