NICHOLSON: "MR. HAUGHTON HAS INTIMATED THAT HE WILL BE ARRIVING ON MONDAY AND HE ASKED FOR AN APPOINTMENT WITH ME AND WITH LORD COLE."

REPORTER: "IS THE POSITION THAT AT THE MOMENT NO CONTRACT EXISTS BETWEEN ROLLS-ROYCE AND LOCKHEEDS FOR THE SUPPLY OF THESE ENGINES?"

REPORTER: "THE GOVERNMENT HAVE MORE OR LESS PROMISED TO FUND, BY THE NECESSARY FINANCE, TO KEEP THE CONTRACT GOING - TO KEEP THE WORK GOING - FOR THE NEXT FOUR WEEKS. CAN YOU SEE A FUTURE FOR THE BEYOND THE NEXT MONTH IF MR. HAUGHTON DOESN'T DO A DEAL WITH YOU?"

REPORTER: "YOU HAVE SAID THAT THERE WILL BE SIGNIFICANT REDUNDANCIES IN THE ROLLS-ROYCE AERO ENGINE DIVISION. HAVE YOU YET QUANTIFIED THIS?"

NICHOLSON: "NO. WE CAN'T DO IT YET UNTIL WE HAVE NEGOTIATIONS WITH MR. HAUGHTON SO THAT WE CAN ESTABLISH AT WHAT LEVEL PRODUCTION WILL CARRY ON IF IT EVER DOES".

REPORTER: "WHAT ABOUT REDUNDANCIES IN THE REST OF THE OLD COMPANY"?

NICHOLSON: "THERE MAY BE A FEW -- BUT VERY VERY LITTLE."
