Background: In London, a fashion designer has come up with a new look in nurses' uniforms. The designer, Jorn Langberg, of Christian Dior, says women should look like women wherever they are.
SYNOPSIS: Florence Nightingale might not have approved, but a London fashion designer wants nurses to wear uniforms like these.
Jorn Langberg of Christian Dior's London House, says women should be given a chance to look and feel like women, whether they are nurses, traffic wardens of princesses. He feels these uniforms meet the requirements, and, says Mr Langberg, they are functional, too.
The models liked the uniforms. There's little doubt male patients would approve, too. Despite Mr Langberg's efforts, nurses won't be throwing away their traditional uniforms just yet. So far, no hospital has taken up the new designs.
Hospital chiefs and nurses alike are having a look at the new Dior designs this week. they are being shown them at the London Nursing Exhibition which opened on Monday.
