Background: Only rare gun shots of hunters disturb the stillness of these lakes at dawn. Lev Kozlovsky and Yevgeni Klimchenko often come here on week-ends. Soviet Byelorussia together with the whole country fought against fascist Germany in the Great Patriotic War. these two men were soldiers in that war. After the war they soon found their palace in peaceful life. Lev Kozlovsky became an engineer- mechanician. Yevgeni Klimchenko obtained his profession here, at the tractor plant in Minsk, the capital of Byelorussia. For over 20 years the life of the plant has been his life. From an apprentice he became a high class master of measuring instruments and apparatus. He was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labour. Last year he was elected a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Now Klimchenko himself teaches young workers the difficult profession of titter-moulders. In each tractor that leaves the conveyor line is a particle of their creative work. The Minsk Tractor Plant was built after the War. The first experimental tractor was assembled here in the summer of 1949. Now these tractors work not only on Soviet fields - they are being exported to over fifty countries of Europe and Asia, Africa, North and South America. The plant has achieved much thanks to such people as Yevgeny Klimchenko. Though he is greatly occupied at work and in social and State affairs, he always finds time to be with his family. In summer time the whole family - his wife Yuzefa, who also works at the plant, and daughters Ira and Olya - often go out to the country. It is a happy and united family, the family of a worker and a member of the parliament.
