Background: A delegation from the Syrian Arab Republic arrived in Baghdad by a special Syrian plane, at 3 o'clock afternoon. The delegation which is led by Sayed Salah Addin Al-Bitar, the prime minister, and minister of foreign affairs, also comprise Sayid Michael Aflaq, the secretary general of the Arab Socialist Baath Party. Dr. Sami Aljundi, the minister of information, Sayed Ahmed Abu Saleh the minister of communication, Sayid Hammoudi Alshofi, col. Fahad Al-Sah'er & Co. Mohamed Omran all of them members of the National Council of the Revolutionary Command.
In a statement to the press Sayid Al-Bitar spoke of the visit of the Syrian delegation to Baghdad "We have come to the Iraqi region after the events of July 18 and July 22. In our last visit to Baghdad we have come to exchange views with the government of sisterly Iraq on the crisis of Unity with the object of finding a way out from this crisis, we then left Baghdad with the feeling that our views, the views of the government of Iraq and those of the government of Syria, were close the one to the other, they were even identical. Today we come back to study the Arab situation in its entirely side by side with Syrian Iraqi relations following the abortive coup d'etat carried out against March 8 revolution. It was the March 8 revolution which had struck a wide path for the Tripartite Unity, but the vengeful insisted on blocking the road of that unity. On July 22 the Egyptian authorities announced that departure from the Tripartite Federal Unity Charter which was agreed upon on April 17".
The film was shot inside the Republican Palace, which shows president Aref and other Iraqi ministers discussing with the Syrian delegation.
