TRANSCRIPT: (SEQ 3): ALI: "I am the greatest fighter of all time (laughter) of all time (laughter). No one don't even rank a fighter with me. If you'd had a fighter-of-the-year Award, A Fighter of the Century or the Fighter Ever Since Boxin's Bin Goin...you could say I'm the fastest, most talked about, the highest-paid, the most controversial, the prettiest the most intelligent-everting (laughter)."

Background: American World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Muhammed Ali was named 'Professional Athlete of the Year' in New york on Tuesday (14 January). At a special luncheon given in his honour he was presented with the Hickock Award-a large circle of gold encrusted with precious stones.
A week before-on 6 January-Ali had been honoured by a New York rock group who had written a special song about (and for) him. He heard the song at another award ceremony when he was presented with a 5,000 US dollar (2,200 pound sterling) cheque to pass to his favourite charity after being nominated 'Boxer of the Year' by an American razor-blade manufacturer.
At the Hickock Award Luncheon it was announced that Ali will defend his title against eight-ranked contender Chuck Wepner is regarded as a mediocre boxer, despite his relatively-high ranking. One of the New Jersey fighter's nicknames is the "Bayonne Bleeder"-a reference to his susceptibility to face cuts.
