Background: Canadian Prime Minister, Pierre Trudeau, arrived in Bonn on Monday (3 March) at the start of a two-day official visit, and immediately began talks with the West German Government on his country's relationship with the European Economic Community (EEC).

After a first session with the Foreign Minister, Hans-Dietrich Genscher -- who met him at the airport -- the Prime Minister attended the signing at the Foreign Ministry of -- cultural agreement between the two countries.

Mr. Trudeau then continued his talks over lunch with Herr Genscher before paying a courtesy call on President Walter Scheel.
