    ROLL ONE



    The beginning shows the World Exhibition of Naive Arts, opened in Zagreb Museum in the beginning of June last until September. All best naive art pictures exhibited from all world, including those made by Canadian Eskimos, and famous Yugoslav naive artists Ivan Generalie, who sells his pictures for 1000 and even more dollars each. The coverage is not complete, and I was to late for the official opening. But it shows the place, visitors and some best pictures exhibited. The next part of Roll One continues by Berbains tea coverage - picking of a rhia by children in one of north Slovene villages Near Skafja Loka.



    ROLL TWO



    Children are picking another herb to be sold later in cooperative farm station and finally send to Bilnja Apoteka Belgrade. Picking of milfoil yarrow, bluebottle, parting-sup, group of children, pan meadow, birch/plucking, children selling their herb to man in cooperative farm in a village near Skofja Loka, Slovenia, ten public market in Ljubljana, women selling their herbal teas, close up of teas as arnica, enzian, department in Ljunliana supermarket, called maximarket which is selling only herbal teas, some close up, drinking of teas in same supermarket.

    Background: Herbs, flowers leaves and teas made from three are taken by thousands in every larger Yugoslav town to cure every ailment - many successfully, many no. The traditional folk medicine is finding new takers every time - and things in small Yugoslav public markets as for some big firms and Supermarkets. Belgrade firm Bilnje Apoteka take has begun to work is scientifically - it has employed several doctors an pharmacologists to pro note herbs as real medicines. It sells about 45 different teas that promise, and work too, relief for everything from swollen joints, diabetes, artheriosclerosis, bronchitis, anemia etc. Last year Bilnja Apoteka sold 200,000 boxes of such teas. Customers come from all walks of life, artists, singers, farmers. In some Yugoslav towns even largest supermarkets began selling Binka Apoteka teas. And some are busily exporting them to the world that is disappointed over synthetical medicines and those hopeless people. It had also become a fashion - back to nature. Many these herbs do help, many not. On the other hand some herbs had long scientifically accepted as medicines as camomile flowers, digitalis for heart cures, buhacas fantastic and absolutely harmless substitute for DDT power as insecticide, arnica, alder blossom, lime blossom, and rye cornicles as unique medicine for stopping of deep bleedings. Rye cornicles are sold at very high price.
