Background: Scores of relatives of Australian tennis star Evonne Gollagong-Cawley watched her renew her marriage vows in the tiny outback town of Barellan, New South Wales, on Sunday (12 October).
Evonne married Englishman, Roger Cawley, in a London registry office ceremony last June, and the "second marriage" was especially for her family and Australian friends.
The whole population of the town and several "outsiders" attended the wedding and the reception afterwards.
The couple were presented with a silver coffee service inscribed "from your friends in Barellan".
The bride wore ankle length silk suit and wore white flowers in her hair. Her bouquet was a large bunch of orchids.
At the reception, guests dined on chicken, lamingtons, passion fruit sponges and pavlovas. The local municipal band provided the music.
After the wedding, Evonne said she would continue to play international tennis until "it was time to have a family".
