    Background: General Sir Richard Hull, Commander in Chief of Far East Land Forces, opened Camp Fort George, the new Commonwealth Military Camp, Malacca, Malaya, Aug. 4. As part of the ceremony he inspected a guard of honour drawn from British, Australian and New Zealand units.

    The camp will be completed in 1964 - an 8-year, GBP7-million pound project. It will have 800 married quarters and accommodation for 6,000 soldiers. Modern amenities will include bank, post office, shops, theatres, schools and a 120-bed hospital. Total area will be 5 miles square.

    Camp Fort George - named for the Commonwealth Division H.Q. in Korea - will house the Commonwealth Brigade stationed in Malaya as part of the Far East Strategic Reserve.
