Zambia's inside right, Kaushi, was beth the here and villain of his team. He scored Zambia's only goal just five minutes from the start but late in the game was censured and sent off the field for dangerous play.
The match, played in the Mehalla Stadium in the Nile Delta, was attended by about eight thousand spectators.
Zambia will now meet Egypt in Cairo next Wednesday (March 6) to decide the winner of the Group Around of games. The winner will meet the victor of the Group B round, comprising the Congo, Mauritius, Zaire and Guinea.
