Background: H. M. the Queen has graciously approved, the addition of the insignia of the George brass to the colours of the K.O.M.R.
This is another honour in addition to the Battle Honour Malta 1940-42 which H. M. the Queen has awarded to the same Regiment 2 years ago.
The K.O.M.R is the only regiment which has the privilege of wearing the insignia of the George brass on the Regimental colours which were today (4th June 1959) paraded though Nalletta with a guard of honour for the people of Malta to see the latest honour to the K.O.M.R. by H. M. the Queen.
The attached cutting from the Times of Malta gives details of the officers taking part in the parade.
