    SPEECH ON FILM (TRANSCRIPT)

(SEQ. 1): MUGABE: "Our view as we pursue our socialist goal is that we shall relate as a non-aligned country to both block provided the relationship we establish is not one that directs the course of our own ideological development. As long as there are no strings attached, aid given to us from any source whatsoever will be welcome aid. But if aid is given with strings then obviously we will not receive it whether it comes from a communist country or a non-communist country. The one thing that we treasure most is our sovereign right to determine the course of our own destiny in this country."

    SPEECH ON FILM (TRANSCRIPT)

(SEQ. 3): MUGABE: "We cannot accept that the solution we are seeking for Namibia should be pinned on the withdrawal of the Cubans from Angola. That's a different matter. If the Americans want to discuss that with the Angolan government then they are free to do so as I pointed out to Dr. Crocker. But we refuse to see any connection between the two and the heads of state and government when they meet in Luanda also refuse to see any connection."
