Background: The top Niger soccer club Sahel earned the wrath of their fans and the local press on Sunday (16 March) when they could only mange a two-all draw with visiting Omnisport of Togo. In the first match between he clubs played in Togo, Omnisport won one-nil, and by forcing a draw in the second round put themselves into the next round of the championship.
The match was played before a capacity crowd at the Niamey stadium. Omnisport scored first through Fousseni in the 11th minute.
Sahel equalised in the 47th minute with a goal from Morre. A few minutes earlier he had missed a penalty.
The home side scored again soon after but Omnisport showed their class with an equaliser a few minutes later. The score stayed at two-all until the finish.
