Background: The largest Bulgarian National Exhibition to have been held in Western Europe opened in London at the Grand Hall, Olympia, on Tuesday (18 August).
The Exhibition is only the third to be held outside Bulgaria, and the first in Britain. Its object is to show Bulgaria as a modern industrial and agricultural state. More than 10,000 exhibits, covering 90,000 square feet of the Olympia Hall, show every aspect of the nation's industry and life.
During the past 25 years Bulgaria has grown from a purely agricultural nation into a rapidly developing industrial state with modern manufacturing methods. Experts at the Exhibition are explaining and demonstrating a wide range of new machinery which is continuing this development.
Among the exhibits are crop sprayers, electric trucks, spinning frame loaders, and new agricultural chemical compounds. Women visitors are also catered for with a display of new fabrics and fashions.
