    THE COMPANY OF SOUTH KOREAN "TIGERS" CAME UNDER HEAVY MORTAR ATTACK LATE ON TUESDAY NIGHT WHILE ACTING AS ..A FLANK GUARD FOR AMERICAN INFANTRY SWEEPING THE AREA IN AN OPERATION CALLED "PAUL REVERE TWO."
    THE BATTLE RAGED ON UNTIL JUST BEFORE DAWN WHEN THE KOREANS REINFORCED BY THEIR OWN TROOPS AND AMERICAN ARTILLERY, LAUNCHED A COUNTER-ATTACK.

    A COUNT LATER THAT MORNING SHOWED 80 NORTH VIETNAMESE REGULAR TROOPS HAD BEEN KILLED WHILE THE KOREAN CASUALTIES WERE LIGHT.

    LIEUTENANT-COLONEL CHAI BYUNG SOO, COMMANDER OF THE 3RD BATTALION OF THE AMORE REGIMENT OF THE KOREAN TIGER DIVISION, LED THE COUNTER-ATTACK.

    THE FIGHTING WAS FOUR MILES (7 KMS) FROM THE CAMBODIAN BORDER, ABOUT 200 MILES (321 KMS) NORTH-EAST OF SAIGON.
